To; ALL MY FRIENDS, CLIENTS AND THEIR PETS
The time has come for me to announce my retirement from the profession I have dedicated my life to.
Starting as a young child and thru all my life; the love of and the care of animals has been my priority.
My greatest reward has been to see a pet go home "well or on the way to well" to their family.
My greatest joy has been to bring new pets into the world working with the wonderful dog and cat breeders in Manitoba.
But as the famous quote goes "all good things must come to an end".
Now is the time to end my career while I still love it, but because I can no longer physically keep up the pace. I have been slowly having more and more arthritis problems which in the last few years which have limited my ability to do many types of surgery. I cannot put in the hours a full practice requires and was not able to find a young vet to work in.
So when the opportunity arose to sell the practice; I with regret decided to do so.
This has been the hardest decision I have ever made; as I will so miss the pets and the people I see daily - both staff and clients.
Dutch Hill has been bought by Dr. David Scammel, whom you may have met thru the Emergency Clinic. I have always said if Dr. Scammel was on duty your pet would get the best of care.
Working with him will be Dr. Kris Dyck who has been in practice in Manitoba for 12 years. She will be at Dutch Hill daily to care for your pets.
Thank-you so much for letting me care for your pets and to be part of their and your lives over these many years.
Dr. Joan
